How long does it take to complete a basic driving course?

The duration of our basic driving course varies depending on your learning pace and previous experience. On average, most students complete the course in 20-30 hours of instruction spread over 6-8 weeks. We offer flexible scheduling to accommodate your availability, and our instructors will work with you to create a personalized learning plan.

What types of vehicles do you use for training?

We use a variety of modern vehicles equipped with dual controls for safety. Our fleet includes compact cars, sedans, and SUVs from reliable manufacturers like Toyota, Honda, and Volkswagen. All our vehicles are regularly maintained and equipped with the latest safety features. If you have a preference for learning on a specific type of vehicle, please let us know, and we'll try to accommodate your request.

Do you offer specialized courses for anxious drivers?

Yes, we offer specialized courses designed specifically for anxious drivers. Our patient instructors are trained to work with nervous students and will create a supportive, stress-free learning environment. These courses include additional techniques for managing anxiety, gradual exposure to challenging driving situations, and extra practice time. We've helped many anxious drivers build confidence and become comfortable behind the wheel.

How much do driving lessons cost?

Our driving lessons start at £30 per hour for individual lessons. We also offer package deals that provide better value: 10 hours for £280 (saving £20), 20 hours for £540 (saving £60), and 30 hours for £780 (saving £120). All prices include fuel, insurance, and use of our vehicles. Special courses like intensive driving courses or pass plus may have different pricing structures. Do you offer any discounts for students or block bookings?

Yes, we offer a 10% discount for full-time students with valid ID. We also provide discounts for block bookings as mentioned above. Additionally, we run seasonal promotions throughout the year. If you refer a friend who books lessons with us, both you and your friend will receive a free hour of instruction. Contact our office for current promotions and to discuss the best package for your needs.

What is your cancellation policy?

We understand that plans can change. Our cancellation policy requires 48 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid charges. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours' notice will incur a 50% charge of the lesson fee. No-shows or cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice will be charged the full lesson fee. In cases of illness or emergency, we may waive these fees at our discretion. Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change your appointment.

Are all your instructors certified?

Yes, all our instructors are fully qualified and certified by the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA). They hold Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) licenses and undergo regular assessments to maintain their qualifications. Many of our instructors have additional certifications in specialized areas such as teaching nervous students, working with those who have learning difficulties, or advanced driving techniques. We're proud of our team's expertise and commitment to high teaching standards.

Can I request a specific instructor?

Absolutely! We understand that the relationship between student and instructor is crucial for effective learning. You can request a specific instructor when booking your lessons, and we'll do our best to accommodate your preference based on the instructor's availability. If you're unsure which instructor might be the best fit, we can recommend someone based on your learning style and needs. You can also change instructors if you feel another might be more suitable for your learning journey.

Do you have female instructors available?

Yes, we have several female instructors on our team. We understand that some students may feel more comfortable learning with an instructor of a specific gender, and we're happy to accommodate these preferences. Our female instructors are highly qualified and experienced, just like all members of our teaching staff. Please mention your preference when booking your lessons, and we'll match you with an appropriate instructor.

How do I book my driving test?

You can book your driving test through the official DVSA website or by phone. However, many of our students prefer us to handle the booking process for them. If you'd like us to book your test, we can do so on your behalf once your instructor confirms you're ready. We can often access cancellation appointments that become available at short notice, potentially reducing your waiting time. There is a small administrative fee for this service in addition to the standard DVSA test fee.

What happens if I fail my driving test?

If you don't pass your test on the first attempt, don't worry – many people need more than one try. Your instructor will discuss the test with you, focusing on areas that need improvement. We offer special post-test lessons that specifically address the issues highlighted in your test report. We can also help you book another test date. Our pass rate is well above the national average, and we're committed to helping you succeed, however many attempts it takes.

Can I use your car for my driving test?

Yes, you can use our car for your driving test. In fact, we recommend this as you'll be using a vehicle you're already familiar with. The fee for using our car for your test includes the instructor's time (they'll pick you up before the test, provide a warm-up lesson, and accompany you to the test center) and the use of the vehicle during the test. The instructor will not be in the car during your actual test – only you and the examiner will be present.
